Weather Highlights
Looking great! Canada Day is expected to be pleasant and sunny, with a comfortable high of 24 °C and a low of 14 °C —perfect for outdoor gatherings, beach strolls, and community events!
Parksville Canada Day Celebrations
Location: Parksville Community Park & Craig Street, Parksville
Event Schedule & Highlights
7:30–11 am – Shriner’s Pancake Breakfast (CCCU parking, Craig St): fuel up before the festivities.
- 10 am – Canada Day Parade along Island Highway East.
- 11 am–7 pm – Food Truck Festival at the sports field lot: local favourites and specialty bites.
- Noon–6:30 pm – Mainstage Music at Parksville Outdoor Theatre:
- Noon–12:45 – Mount Arrowsmith Pipe Band (50th anniversary)
- 12:45 – Official Ceremony
- 1–2:30 – Time Well Wasted
- 3–4:30 – Sarah Smith
- 5–6:30 – The Joints
- 1–9 pm – All-Ages Entertainment: waterfront gazebo tunes, magic with Craig the Magician, kids’ games, demos, sandcastle lessons, cake & cupcakes at 2:30 pm.
- 6–9 pm – Summer‑by‑the‑Sea Market on Craig Street: browse crafts and artisan products.
- 9:30 am–7 pm – Free Bike Valet in the park—cycle stress-free to the festivities.
- 7:30 am–12 pm – Road Closures on Island Hwy East for the parade.
- Bonus! Keep an eye—and ear—out for a flyover by a Cormorant helicopter around 2 pm (weather permitting)!
Qualicum Beach Canada Day Festivities
Location: Royal Canadian Legion Branch 76 (180 Veterans Way)
Event Schedule
- 8:30–11:30 am – Pancake Breakfast in the Legion garden with “Q Jumpers” providing morning tunes (9:30–11:30).
- 11:30 am–12:45 pm – Outlander Band on Veterans Way & Memorial Ave.
- 12:30 pm – Qualicum Beach Pipe Band performance by the main stage.
- Noon–6:30 pm – BBQ & Beer Garden open—burgers, hot dogs, and craft beverages.
- 1–4 pm – Kid Zone: bouncy castles, face painting, balloon art, dunk tank & games.
- 1:00 pm – Opening Ceremony followed by:
- 1:45 pm – Flyover & Cake Cutting inside the Legion Hall
- 1:45–2:30 pm – Cloggers performance
- 3–4:45 pm – Mike Jarvis on stage
- 5–6:45 pm – Cheers
- 7:30–9:30 pm – The Apollos closing out the evening.
